Description
Burano is an island of colorful houses in the lagoon, 30 minutes boat ride from Venice. It is more correctly termed an archipelago of four islands which are linked by bridges. It is also famous for it's lace, Murano glass and it's fish restaurants.
Burano's houses are mostly squared in shape and are divided into two or three floors. On the lower ground there is a kitchen, an eating area and the toilet. On the floors above there are the bedrooms. The houses were originally colored so that you could see where one house started and another began and also so that they could be identified from fishing boats. In this photo there is brightly colored washing on the line and pretty green shutters on the windows.
I have many similar digital photos of Burano and Italy to browse. Just click on my name (above left) and go to my Digital Art Gallery.

Lots of images of this popular town, but you created a more unique image; nice work.
