Description
An oil painting of a honeyeater, the Western Spinebill (Acanthorhynchus superciliosus), a native bird to Australia. The male has a darker head and a rusty red band around the back of the neck to the underside of the bill and down the chest. The back and wings are a grey color. The female is paler with rust patch on back of her neck and grey head. They are nectar eaters, mainly from the red flowering Banksias. Painted with a palette knife for a thick texture.
Bird art for the living room, office, lobby or country cottage decor.
