Description
Newport Beach and Balboa Pier California. A seascape painting of Newport Beach California and the Balboa Pier on the Newport Peninsula. This beach scene features colorful beach umbrellas, palm trees and people swimming and sun baking. This beach painting is a print from an original Jan Matson oil painting. It was painted in an impressionist style, mostly using a palette knife in oils with a loose, thick texture.
Newport Beach is a city in Orange County, California, south of Santa Ana and known for its Mediterranean climate. It has been a popular beach for surfers and beach lovers since 1905. Newport Pier is used by strollers, sightseers and fishermen. The boardwalk runs for nearly 3 miles past Newport Pier to the Balboa Peninsula. Newport Harbor has the largest boat harbor in the U.S. and is popular for sailing, rowing, fishing, paddle boarding and kayaking.
A beach print of Newport Beach and Balboa Pier will be a colorful addition to any room and bring back memories of summer holidays.

I like the simplicity of this painting. With a minimum of detail, you have captured so much activity! The blue tones carried through the sand work beautifully. like/f
