Description
An original oil painting of a Raven bird on a bright red background.
This Raven print is also available with a painted turquoise background from my Animal Paintings Gallery.
The Raven has black plumage, (which appears bluish in sunshine), croaking call, and a diet of small animals and mice. It has had a reputation of a bird of ill omen and of interest to creators of myths and legends. In Greek mythology, ravens are associated with Apollo, the god of prophecy and are said to be a symbol of good luck.
The common Raven, also named the Northern Raven or American Raven, is a large black bird and is found in the Northern Hemisphere. The Raven is around 25 inches in length and 2 1/2 pounds in weight. They can live up to 20 years and feed on insects, grains, berries, fruit and small animals.
Ravens are considered among the most intelligent of birds, can work together to solve problems and mimic the calls of other bird species.
This Raven painting has been featured in the Fine Art America groups: Five Star Artist, Art is Art and Artists Cards and Fine Art Prints.
Bird prints are available as stretched canvas prints, acrylic, metal, framed, posters, phone cases, greeting cards, duvet covers, tote bags and throw pillows.
