Description
An original oil painting of a Robin bird, painted with a palette knife for a richly textured artwork. The beautiful European Robin is native to Ireland, Britain and much of western Europe.
The orange breast of male and female robins came from the European robin's original name of redbreast. Orange as a colour was unknown in English until the sixteenth century when the fruit was introduced. In the fifteenth century, the bird came to be known as robin redbreast, which was eventually shortened to robin.
A pretty little bird painting for the living room, bedroom, nursery, office or a gift for the bird lover.
This Robin painting has been featured in the Fine Art America groups: Images That Excite, Art is Art, Greetings Cards For All Occasions, The World We See Group, Art Impressionism to Realism.
Bird prints are available as stretched canvas prints, acrylic, metal, framed, posters, phone cases, greeting cards, duvet covers, tote bags and throw pillows.
