Santa Barbara Beach painting. Thick textured, impressionist beach painting of Santa Barbara's West Beach from Stearns Wharf Pier. The beach scene is panorama shaped and features the mountains in the distance, palm trees, beach umbrellas, sailing boats and people relaxing, strolling and swimming in the ocean.
The pier is very popular for its shops and restaurants and the beach for volleyball, kayaking, and boating. East Beach, West Beach, Leadbetter Beach and Shoreline Park are all popular Santa Barbara beaches.
This beach scene is a print from an original Jan Matson oil painting. It was painted in an impressionist style, mostly using a palette knife for a loose, thick texture. The seascape depicts a typical summer's day near Stearns Wharf.
