Description
An original oil painting portrait of a Jacaranda Tree on a white background. Painted with a palette knife for a thick textured, impressionist tree painting.
Jacaranda trees are native to tropical and subtropical regions of Central America, South America, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica and the Bahamas and are valued for their intense flower displays. It has been planted in Asia, especially in Nepal, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Australia and has been introduced to most tropical and subtropical regions. Jacarandas grow as shrubs to large trees ranging in size from 20 to 30 m (66 to 98 ft) tall. Flowers have a five-lobed blue to purple-blue corolla, although a few species have white flowers. The fruit of the Jacaranda has an oblong to oval pod containing many small seeds. They thrive in full sun and sandy soils and grow in abundance in warmer climates. Mature plants can survive in colder climates down to β7 deg C (19 deg F).
