Oil painting of a villa in Tuscany. This view is from San Gimignano, southwest of Florence. There are cypress pines, olive groves and rolling blue hills. Every view from here is beautiful! San Gimignano is an ancient hilltop town south west of Florence. It is encircled by walls and famous for its medieval architecture and its ancient towers.
San Gimignano was an Etruscan village and was named after the bishop of Modena, San Gimignano, who apparently saved the city from Attila the Hun. It is a beautiful hilltop village surrounded by the remains of an ancient wall and has 14 surviving medieval towers.
